You want to develop your people so that they work more effectively as a team. You don't see the benefit of taking them paintballing or go-karting for the day but want something that they will enjoy but also take some direct learning from. Something that they can bring straight back into the workplace and use. This is what combined days will do for you.
The typical components of combined days will often include:
Psychometric
testing or team roles analysis (eg MBTI or Belbin).
By raising your team members awareness of how they are different, what strengths each has and how to work with each other, the team will begin to leverage its strengths and overcome its weaknesses.
Defining personal, team and company values. There is a growing trend in organisations to create a list of values which are then published. But these often have little relevance to individuals and teams. We start with the individual and build powerful team values that all can draw strength from.
A team activity designed to put the new learning to use. For example, team drumming or a team painting exercise. Both of these activities (and many others) will encourage the team members to put their new-found knowledge to good use.
Follow up. You will have come back from many courses in the past with great intentions to use the material only to never review it again. Not this time!
As part of the Combined Teambuilding Day we will run 4 one hour follow up sessions with your team either face to face or via conference call. This way the learning is embedded into day to day activity. You will be amazed at the transformation this process brings about in your team.
